Who & what we are

Just to give everyone a short definition of 'On D Mind'.
This is where I share my recent state of mind or just what things have stood out to me in the past few weeks.

What will they say of you?

We lost our little buddy Nick Howard on April 9th in an auto accident. His funeral was like no other thing I've ever witnessed. So many people from so many different walks of life. All these paths that God has placed us on, all came together in Corn Creek Church that day. In all of our ways was this untimely death of our Friend, Uncle, Brother and Son.
There was a time set aside at the funeral for all to share their thoughts or memories. So many shared and it was amazing the good this one boy did during his short time with us. I think some (including me), were brought to a realization in these times of reflection on Nicks life, of- "what will be said of me when I go?"
I personally got in Nicks business quite often, more in a negative state of mind I guess. I'd always say don't do this or that, be respectful to those girls, just always telling him what he doesn't need to be doing. And now that the body that we knew as Nick is now gone, I see that the poor little guy was "doing" all on his own, with his God given ways what he should have been doing. He loved people, he took up slack where others fell short, he not only helped people in so many ways, but loved every second had an opportunity to do so.
I never imagined I would be writting to people about the life lesson Nick Howard taught me. But here it is, believe it or not. Look at those around you. These faces are beautiful gifts that God has placed around us. Take care of them no matter if they are younger, older, Brothers Sisters Moms, Dads, Sons, Friends. Love them and cherish the bonds you have.
Life here is swift sometimes, we don't know when it might be taken. Live and never stop Loving like this is your last.
Read your Bible today and everyday. Comfort that can't be found anywhere else is there in that book. Keep it open.

It doesn't really matter what man says about us. But it's a good sign that we are right with God if man says good about us when we're gone.

What will they say of you?

God Keep you,

Travis D.
