Nicholas Howard of Milton Kentucky
Age 17 Rides YZ
125 & 250 A class
Nick is
a well known racer, especially around D Track. Actually this place is known by some to be "Nick's track", for more than one
reason. First reason is because before D Track actually became a race track it was
Nick Howards (along with a few others), practice track. Now it's said "Nick ownes D Track", because it's very difficult for
anyone to out perform him here.
(Travis) How
long have you been racing?
(Nick) 9 yrs
(Travis) Where was your first race/ how'd it go?
(Nick) umm lets see my first race was at the Oldham
County Fair and I was riding a Kx it was all ragged
out
and was pretty old school but it was too much for
me caused I wrecked every race, cut the track,
and still got last.
(Travis) What's the best race you ever ran?
(Nick) I would have to say it was at Echo Valley
in Poole Kentucky. I got the hole shot on Pooh Sipes
held
him off till the last lap and he tried to pass me
right b4 the finish and ended up wreckin but I still
got him.
Travis: Throughout
your motocross career what is ur
biggest accomplishment.
(Nick) Umm
I would have to say it was April 6th 2003
at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan. I was
invited to go there
and race Sunday after the pro's
and well I got first in the 85cc advanced class and
was named the National Amateur Supercross
Champion.
(Travis) Your
Dad called me after that race. That was huge!
(Travis) How did you get into racing Motocross?
(Nick)
My Dad got me into it because he used to
ride and race Motocross
(Travis)What else do you do besides MX?
(Nick)
I ride BMX, Workout, and I've been trying the
skateboarding thing but it'll take some time cause I
can't
even ride the thing.
(Travis) What's your favorite track?(you
don't have
to say D Track).
(Nick) Umm I would
have to say definitely D-Track
cause u never really get a break ur always doin
something on the track to keep
u busy i like the
tight stuff.
(Travis) What can you tell
us about youself that most
people might not know?
(Nick) I
love to ride mopeds.
(Travis) Nick...your "special", I
think most people know
what I mean when I say that. Always a Joker.
2005 is a big year for Nick. This might be the last year we
see him in the B class. Going to the A class gets harder
it seems every year. There is alot of talent out there, with
great support. We believe in Nick, He and his family are
a huge part of the D Track family. I would like to give my
most heart felt thanks to all of you.
(Travis) Who would you like to thank?
(Nick) Carroll County Yamaha, Paul's Cycle Supply,
Troy Lee Designs,
Suspension Works, Utopia Goggles,
Rand Angus Farms, Midway Fast Stop, Bedford Stop &
Go, Farmers Bank
of Milton, Bedford Loan & Deposit,
Amsoil (Daniel & Terri Dean), Daddy Built Motorsports
and Construction, Team
FCA MX and last but not least
Travis and Amanda Durand
Thank you for taking the time to let us get to know you Nick.
