Q.What protective gear do I need? A. Good quality approved off-road
helmet, gloves, goggles, boots above the ankle, and long sleeves.
note: the better your riding gear the safer you are. Actual riding gear is made like it is for more
than just looks. We recommend you wear all the protective equipment that is available. Your safety is very, very important
to D Track as well as most other MX tracks.
Q. Where do I start if I want to get into MX racing? A. First get a bike
or quad that suits you and your ability. (Don't go out and by a 450F if you've never been on a track). Get the protective
gear above. If you've never rode anything before get someone to help you with the basics. We can help you here if you don't
know anyone that can help get you started. (502) 268-5748 After getting aquainted with your machine and feeling somewhat comfortable
come see us. We are open Mon-Sat. on non-race weekends from 10am-6:30pm Sun. 12:30-5:30 - always call first. When
you feel like you're ready...come on race day: don't forget your bike & gear, trust me, it's happened. You'll come
to the tower to sign up for your class. If you're not sure what class to get in just ask and we'll find the right place for
you. Then your class or bike size will be called out for practice. You will do a few laps with the riders that you will
compete against. Race day track conditions are always different than practice day, more lines through the turns and more moisture
in the dirt. Usually deep loose dirt is what the conditons will be like on race day, at D Track anyway. After practice
you will be going to the tower for a riders meeting. At D Track we always do a small devotional before the riders meeting.
At this meeting riders will gather around the tower and you will get all the information you need to start your race. And
there will be a time at the end for questions. And before long, you'll be out there and considered, from this point on, A
RACER!
Q. Do I have to race an entire series of races or can I just come race 1 or 2? A.
You can come and race when ever you'd like. A Series of races just means that this set of races will be grouped together.
At the end of the season the points that each rider earns throughout the year will be tallied. The racers that earn the top
3 positions in each class will be invited to an Awards banquet where they will receive LARGE Championship Trophies as well
as other prizes, like gear, tools, straps etc. So it's a great payoff if you do get involved in a series, but you don't have
to be.
Q. What is the difference between a G.P., 2 Moto, & Arenacross formats? A. G.P.
format means racers run 1 race that lasts 20 minutes plus 2 laps.
*A 2 moto format means racers run 2 races per class. Points are earned in each race and at the end of the race day these points
are tallied and racers get an over all result. If 2 riders earn a 1st & 2nd and swap positions between each of these races
then the 2nd moto is the tie breaker. So who ever gets the best result in the 2nd race gets the win. *When
we run night races and fair races these events are run in an arenacross format. 2 races are run per class but the first is
for gate pick only. We call this race a qualifier. The secong race is the only one that counts for point or your final finishing
position.
Q. What number do I put on my bike or quad? A. This is totally up to you.
I choose a number that kind of followed me all my life. Some people have numbers that they get from baseball or some other
sport.
If you come on race day and someone in your class has the same number, the one that signs up last
has to put a slash over their's. You can do this with black tape. It does have to be 3 digits or less. The scorers prefer 2
or less because it's easier to write down on the score sheets but 3 is ok. QUADS must have a front
& rear *VISABLE* number plate on the machine. It can be a paper plate with black tape numbers as long as it is visable
to the scorers and it stays attatched throughout the race.
