Zach Liter is a very well known name in this area. He's been a staple in the D Track family from
it's beginning. He's went through many changes throughout his racing life. Now he's got a new bike, a new attitude and already a
Winter Mini Championship under his belt. Zach just won Most Improved at the '07 D Track Momentum Series Banquet. That's an
award given each year to the rider that has turned our heads more than any other. So let's get to know a little more about
him.
Travis- How did you get started riding and racing MX?
Zach- My uncle Daron
Travis- What was your first bike?
Zach- kx 60
Travis- I remember test riding that thing before your Mom bought it. It almost
killed me in the field out here.
Travis- I remember the first FCA MX Camp. I saw you at The Badlands. You were
struggling. Do you remember that day?
Zach- yeah it was rough i had a bad wreck that day
Travis- Tell us about your first race.
Zach- It was the first winter minis and it was very cold.
Travis- Yea, that was 2002 December 1st. Pretty strange time to decide to have the first
ever race. Me and Cleveland tilled it up that morning and it was like a dirt slushy. It was sure fun though.
Travis- What is your most memorable motocross moment?
Zach- when i wrecked at arenacross and broke my arm.
Travis- Yes I bet that is for sure one you can't forget. I think some people know you as
that guy that went through the wall at arenacross. WOW scary.
Travis- Tell us about your worst and best races.
Zach- best was winning the winter minis
this year
worst is every race i wreck
Travis- You have had moments of speed during the last few years but you really
came alive near the end of '07. Your riding with more confidence and determination. What do you think has made such a
difference?
Zach- Motivation and my new bike.
Travis- What kind of track do you feel more comfortable on, a big wide open
track or a tight arenacross?
Zach- Big wide open track.
Travis- What kind of difference did it make to switch from 2 strokes to 4? And when
did you make the switch?
Zach- Made a big difference i became faster. I made the
switch at the end of 2006.
Travis- It seems that you are friends with some very fast guys like; Brian Smith,
Nick Howard, and Bobby Agnew. How much does it help your racing program to ride with these guys?
Zach- It helps me alot to try and keep up with Nick and Bobby
because it makes me push myself harder.
Travis- Yes it always helps to ride with faster guys. You just have to make
sure they are faster. Sometimes you just have to switch who your chasing.
Travis- What do you do to prepare for a race?
Zach- Practice as much as I can dont really work out
that much not my thing.
Travis- What does this sport mean to you? Has it helped shape who you are in
anyway?
Zach- This sport means every thing to me.
Travis- What are some things you like to do
other than ride or race?
Zach- Hang with friends and be with katie my girlfriend.
Travis- Tell us something we might not know about you.
Zach- Trying some quad racing next year.
Travis- Do you have any goals in your racing program or outside of racing that you'd
like to accomplish in the near future?
Zach- Make to
Loretta Lynns.
Travis- Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
Zach- My Uncle for everything and my Mom and Dad for buying
my bikes and God for being with me and D-track.
Travis- Thanks for your time Zach. And a heart felt thank you to your family and your
extended families. Though not easy for some to keep track of how everyone is connected to you but never mind that. They are
all a very special group of people and have been so good to us through the years. Thank them for us and God bless.
